Tech to Get Fit!

  • Glendale YMCA - Studio B 140 North Louise Street Glendale, CA, 91206 United States (map)

Hosted by Glendale Community College

At Glendale Community College we use technology in the form of MYZONE heart rate monitors and apps to keep track of workout intensity, earn points, host challenges, and teach our students about fitness. We've also partnered with the National Academy of Sports Medicine to help our Fitness Specialist students learn how to perform dynamic movement assessments and inform exercise program design with the NASM Edge app for their future careers as fitness professionals. This workshop will demonstrate the science behind this technology and how we can use it to get fitter bodies and healthier lifestyles, and how technology can be used by personal trainers, group fitness instructors and studio owners to engage their clients. Anyone interested in fitness technology should attend, and especially those interested in a career in fitness or looking to expand their current careers as personal trainers or fitness instructors.
