Isabel Casillas Guzman is an entrepreneur and small to mid-sized business expert who is committed to helping founders launch and scale. Isabel has co-founded businesses and advised entrepreneurs, growth companies, and Fortune 1000s with a commitment to operational excellence and reaching new markets. Her work in access to capital and entrepreneurship led to her appointment by President Obama as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the U.S. Small Business Administration where she oversaw the development of policy and programs in lending, investment, counseling, and market making through federal contracting and exporting. While at the SBA, Isabel translated business trends into policy that helped advance SME growth and helped lead to record levels in key performance metrics, including $25.1 billion in flagship 7(a) lending program, $25 billion under management by licensed Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs), and $90.78 billion in federal contracting directed to small businesses exceeding goals 3 years straight.
Guzman is the Co-Founder of GovContract Pros, which helps small businesses access the $500 billion federal marketplace. She is also a Senior Advisor to Larta Institute, the largest national accelerator providing technology commercialization services to science-based ventures.
Guzman is an alumna of the University of Pennsylvania where she received her Bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School.
